Pictures of various places in Goshoura.

There's no airport in Goshoura, not even a tiny landing strip, so the only way to get there is by boat. This is the first thing you see when you get off the boat, a big dinosaur head.

This is some little tower that's on a tiny island that seems kinda important, kinda like the Washington monument of Goshoura or something.

A funny lion statue that sits in front of the biggest shriney thing in Goshoura.

Here's the biggest shriney thing in Goshoura. You can see the lions off to either side. It's on an island that is connected to Goshoura by a small bridge, however, it is completely uninhabited. I've heard this small island is famous for Almonite fossils or something. Almonites are huge snails that can get as big as your head or maybe even bigger.

Some cool statues in a little park area that I pass on my way to the BOE. This is where I found the biggest spider I ever saw (see Nature section).
----------------------

My next door neighbor's house, as seen from my rooftop (see, they have big houses here too).
----------------------

Poseidon, probably the nicest restaurant on the island. You can even get American-ish style food, but it's pretty expensive. When I went, I got a small hamburger (no bun), enough mashed potatoes to fill about 6 or 7 bottle caps, and some yummy cabbage on the side for a mere 700 yen (about $7).

Some shriney thing.

Another, slightly more rotund shriny thing. (pardon the Palmaccio-ism)

Goshoura is for some reason famous for dinosaurs, I guess they found some fossils here or something. There's a museum here too, but I'm pretty sure most of that stuff is just replicas, like this fella.

The only "beach" I've found on this island (hey, at least it has a diving board). Apparently there are some pretty nice beaches on some neighboring islands though, and hopefully, the art teacher will take me surfing with him sometime.

Where the sidewalk ends. Who the hell is Shel Silverstein? No this is really where the sidewalk ends, and it happens to also be the street. This is why it's impossible to ride the circumference of the island on my bike. Kinda sad, but oh well.

This is one of two things that I'm told Goshoura has. It's either a fish farm or a pearl harvesting facility. Yep, they harvest pearls in Goshoura. (Again, not sure which one this is, but I know we have both).

From a distance.

View of Goshoura from the ferry. That round building is the Library/Board of Education building.
----------------------

Same view, but from a distance. BOE building is still visible over to the right. My apt is a little bit past that bridge on the same island.
