Media Cafe POPEYE
The music teacher at Kita JH told me about a great way to spend the night in the city for less than 2000 yen. Internet cafe's. You get a private room where you have a choice of a big leather couch, reclining chair, or massage chair. They have a huge comic book library, a PS2 with a small collection of games and DVD's to check out, and of course, a computer. There's a shower and bathroom for community use, but it's private since only one person can go in at a time. In addition, you get free sodas, frozen drinks, coffee, and even soup! The only downside is that your room is more like a cubicle, so you can occasionally hear other people, but usually it's really quiet, like a library. Their website (only in Japanese) is http://www.media-cafe.jp

Talk about a setup.

Hokkei Club Hotel

Look how tiny this room is!

Here it is from another angle. I barely had room to open my suitcase on the floor.

The bathroom kinda resembles an airplane bathroom, only with a shower.

They give you a little origami swan for some reason.

Complimentary slippers with inserts. Captions on inserts: "Please use at will" "feel good on bare feet"

Caption: "This cup has been washed. Be relieved, and use it."
Sounds a littly funny, but not nearly as funny as the little card they gave me (see Engrish page 1)
