This is a random festival I found when exploring Tokyo with the Bergstroms. Please read about this adventure in my journal.

The Bergstroms

These are two of many friends I made while at the orientation in Tokyo. The three of us went exploring in Tokyo and found a strange hallway amongst all of the tall buildings and neon signs.

Strange Hallway

This really didn't look like it belonged here. It was completely surrounded by huge buildings, so naturally we had to investigate, and found a traditional Japanese festival.

Performers

On the top of this structure, there is a guy playing taiko drum. People all around the structure are dancing. About 50-60 people were dancing at any given moment.

There were two other people simultaneously playing taiko drum off to the side.

Shrines and things

I don't know the significance of the lightning bolt shaped paper hanging everywhere.

A similar shrine to the first.

Another shrine

Cool statue

A small hallway similar to the entrance to the festival.

Not sure what this traditional looking building is, but it must be important because people aren't allowed inside, however it is possible to see in. It looks like some kind of dojo. Also the sign on the stairs is featured in the "engrish" section.
