This festival happened to fall on Halloween, but it's timing was coincidential, and was decided by something to do with the moon cycle. Most Japanese people have little awareness of Halloween. Arakuchi is the area within Goshoura that I live in. (The characters used to write "Arakuchi" mean Storm Entrance, they told me this AFTER the typhoon came and went.)
